Accountant

We are looking for an Accountant to join a team in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on a Long-term Contract assignment. This role will help maintain accurate financial records, support reporting cycles, and contribute to a well-controlled accounting environment. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, confidence working through close activities, and hands-on expertise with Oracle Cloud in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:
• Record and post accounting entries that support complete and timely financial reporting across reporting periods.
• Contribute to month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities by preparing schedules and completing assigned accounting tasks on deadline.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies, and take corrective action to clear outstanding variances.
• Maintain financial data and review records for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established accounting policies.
• Assist in producing financial statements and other reports required for internal stakeholders and external reporting needs.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement activity to identify unusual movements and support informed decision-making.
• Review daily and periodic transactions to ensure amounts are coded, classified, and recorded appropriately.
• Use Oracle Cloud to manage accounting workflows, reporting outputs, and supporting financial information.
• Provide documentation and account support for audit requests and help strengthen accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on operational needs, process enhancements, and special projects, including work related to organizational or system-related initiatives when assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 4 years of progressive accounting experience in a detail-oriented business environment.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience using Oracle Cloud for accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles, general ledger processes, and financial reporting practices.
• Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and close-related deliverables.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze data efficiently and accurately.
• Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating across departments.
