Production Planner – Electronics Manufacturing

Hauppauge, NY 11788, US Contract
Compensation: $30.40 to $35.20 Hourly

We are looking for a detail-oriented Production Planner to join an electronics manufacturing operation. This contract position with the potential to become permanent will oversee production planning activities that keep customer commitments on track while balancing materials, capacity, and workflow across the plant. The role partners with purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and logistics teams to support efficient output, maintain inventory accuracy, and respond quickly to changing production needs.


Responsibilities:

• Create and update short- and long-range manufacturing schedules using order demand, forecast data, and stock availability to align production output with delivery targets.

• Review shop floor progress regularly and revise plans as conditions change, including shifts in customer demand, component shortages, or equipment interruptions.

• Work closely with procurement teams to confirm timely receipt of electronic parts and raw materials needed to support scheduled builds.

• Evaluate labor capacity, machine loading, and production constraints to improve throughput and support efficient use of resources.

• Issue, monitor, and manage manufacturing work orders within the company’s planning and ERP systems.

• Track schedule attainment and production metrics, then identify delays, bottlenecks, and areas requiring corrective action.

• Maintain appropriate inventory levels for raw materials, in-process assemblies, and completed products to support operations without excessive stock.

• Partner with engineering, quality, and manufacturing personnel to address production challenges and keep orders moving through the process.

• Communicate schedule priorities, updates, and changes clearly to stakeholders across departments.

• Prepare reporting on production performance, key planning indicators, and inventory trends for leadership review.


Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in production planning within an electronics manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Hands-on experience working with ERP or production planning systems in a manufacturing setting.
• Solid knowledge of production scheduling, inventory control, and overall manufacturing operations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Advanced or intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel for planning, reporting, and data analysis.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
• A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, industrial engineering, business administration, or a related discipline is a plus.

Compensation

$30.40-$35.20 Hourly
