Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a team in Richmond, Virginia on a Contract basis. This role focuses on maintaining timely and accurate invoice handling, supporting day-to-day payables activity, and helping the department stay current with processing volumes. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in accounts payable, strong attention to detail, and confidence using Microsoft Office in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities:
• Process a high volume of accounts payable transactions with accuracy and consistent attention to deadlines.
• Review incoming invoices, assign the correct coding, and prepare documentation for timely payment.
• Manage invoice entry and validation to ensure financial records remain complete and organized.
• Support daily payable operations so the team remains current with workload demands and processing targets.
• Assist with check run preparation and related payment activities in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain clear records of invoices and payment activity using Microsoft Office tools and departmental tracking methods.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support function.
• Ability to code invoices accurately and process them efficiently in a high-volume setting.
• Familiarity with check runs and standard payment processing practices.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and keep pace with daily processing needs.

Compensation

$23.28-$24.50 Hourly
