Lead Controls Engineer

We are seeking a Lead Control Systems Analyst to support major control systems initiatives within a wastewater environment. This role will lead the design, development, migration, startup, and support of industrial automation and SCADA/DCS projects, with a strong emphasis on Rockwell PlantPAx. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with control systems implementation, project startup, and system migration activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead control systems design, configuration, integration, and support for industrial automation projects.
• Serve as a technical lead for SCADA/DCS migrations, including platform modernization to Rockwell PlantPAx.
• Support project lifecycle activities including requirements gathering, design reviews, programming, testing, commissioning, and startup.
• Develop and implement control strategies, HMI/SCADA graphics, alarms, and system interfaces within the PlantPAx environment.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, integrators, and project teams to ensure successful delivery and startup of automation projects.
• Troubleshoot and optimize control systems to improve reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Create and maintain system documentation, functional descriptions, test plans, and startup/commissioning records.
• Provide leadership and guidance to analysts, engineers, and technicians on control systems best practices.

Qualifications:

Must-Have Qualifications

• Strong experience with Rockwell PlantPAx DCS.
• Proven project startup/commissioning experience.
• Experience leading or supporting industrial control systems projects from development through implementation.
• Strong understanding of SCADA, PLC, HMI, and DCS architecture.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and project teams.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience with Rockwell Logistics Designer.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLC.

Compensation

$131.10-$151.80 Hourly
