Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a long-term contract engagement in Bristol, Rhode Island. This role will focus on organizing and correcting historical financial records, with a strong emphasis on accurate transaction coding and account balancing. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and the ability to work through a high volume of reconciliation items with precision.

Responsibilities:
• Review and organize historical financial activity to improve the accuracy of the company’s books.
• Classify transactions correctly within QuickBooks Online to maintain clean and reliable records.
• Perform detailed bank and account reconciliations across a large volume of outstanding items.
• Investigate discrepancies, identify missing or incorrect entries, and resolve issues efficiently.
• Work through approximately 873 transactions requiring reconciliation and cleanup.
• Maintain clear documentation of adjustments, corrections, and reconciliation outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify transaction details and ensure proper accounting treatment.

Qualifications:

• Experience using QuickBooks Online in a bookkeeping or accounting support capacity.
• Demonstrated background in bank reconciliations and account reconciliation work.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct financial inconsistencies.
• Comfortable handling a high volume of transactions while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to organize historical records and bring accounts into proper balance.
• Solid understanding of transaction categorization and general bookkeeping practices.

Compensation

$23.75-$27.50 Hourly
