Sr Cost Accountant

Compensation: $85 to $100 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Sr Cost Accountant to support financial visibility and operational performance for our manufacturing operations in Huntersville, North Carolina. This position partners closely with plant and business teams to evaluate costs, explain performance trends, and strengthen budgeting and reporting accuracy. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to translate financial data into practical guidance for decision-making.

Responsibilities:
• Produce recurring financial reports and interpret results to measure operating performance against plans, forecasts, and established targets.
• Build and refine budgeting, forecasting, and planning models that help leadership assess spending, profitability, and future resource needs.
• Review standard costs, inventory activity, and manufacturing variances to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Partner with operations and other cross-functional stakeholders to collect financial and production data, validate accuracy, and improve reporting reliability.
• Track key performance indicators and summarize meaningful trends for management to support continuous improvement efforts.
• Prepare audit support materials and address requests related to accounting records, internal controls, and financial documentation.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting procedures and control practices that promote efficiency, consistency, and transparency.
• Assist with cycle count review, cost analysis, and other plant accounting activities that strengthen financial discipline within the manufacturing environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in cost accounting, financial analysis, or controlling, with direct exposure to manufacturing operations.
• Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cycle count processes.
• Experience preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial reports in a business or plant accounting setting.
• Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
• Demonstrated commitment to integrity, accountability, and high ethical standards.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.

Compensation

$85,000.00-$100,000.00 Yearly
