Medical Customer Service Rep
Responsibilities:
• Build strong working relationships with physician offices, practice administrators, and medical records contacts to support ongoing collaboration.
• Coordinate the collection of medical documentation from healthcare providers and follow through to ensure records are obtained accurately and on time.
• Plan and complete in-person visits within the assigned territory to support outreach efforts and address provider needs directly.
• Partner with internal teams to troubleshoot retrieval challenges, resolve service issues, and improve day-to-day operational results.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, status updates, and supporting documentation to monitor progress and ensure visibility across workflows.
• Identify recurring barriers and recommend practical improvements that enhance operational efficiency and consistency.
• Contribute to the development of repeatable processes and best practices that support scalable field operations.
• Handle all interactions and documentation in accordance with organizational policies, privacy expectations, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
• 3–5 years of experience in healthcare operations, provider support, account coordination, field outreach, medical records, or another customer-facing healthcare role.• Strong communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with provider offices and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to stay highly organized while managing a territory independently and balancing multiple priorities.
• Experience resolving operational issues and coordinating with several parties to move work forward efficiently.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout New Jersey for onsite provider engagement.
• Working knowledge of medical records processes and basic medical terminology.
• Background in call center customer service, patient interaction, or patient billing is helpful.
• Preferred experience includes provider outreach, Medicare Advantage, health plan operations, risk adjustment, quality programs, or process improvement initiatives.
Compensation
