Accounts Payable Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper authorization before processing payment.
• Assign correct general ledger or cost account codes to invoices in line with company procedures.
• Enter and maintain invoice data in the accounting system with a high degree of precision.
• Prepare and process ACH payments and check runs according to established schedules.
• Reconcile payable records and help resolve discrepancies with vendors or internal departments.
• Monitor outstanding items to ensure timely payment and support healthy vendor relationships.
• Maintain organized accounts payable documentation for audit readiness and reporting needs.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience working in accounts payable within an office or business environment.• Hands-on ability to code invoices accurately and apply appropriate account classifications.
• Working knowledge of ACH transactions and check payment processing.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage high-volume financial data entry.
• Comfortable using accounting systems and standard office software for payable functions.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize deadlines and maintain accuracy in a Contract role.
