Legal Secretary
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and submit legal documents through electronic court filing systems while ensuring compliance with court rules and filing deadlines.
• Maintain attorney calendars by scheduling hearings, deadlines, meetings, and other case-related events with a high level of accuracy.
• Draft, format, and revise correspondence, pleadings, and other legal materials from dictation, notes, or attorney instruction.
• Coordinate court filings and service activities for civil litigation matters, tracking confirmations and follow-up requirements.
• Organize case files, manage legal documents, and keep records current to support efficient matter handling.
• Provide administrative support to attorneys handling defense litigation, including deadline monitoring and document preparation.
• Communicate with courts, clients, and outside parties professionally regarding scheduling, filings, and case logistics.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience working as a Legal Secretary in a litigation-focused legal environment.• Hands-on knowledge of electronic filing procedures and court filing requirements.
• Background supporting civil litigation matters, including familiarity with related documentation and deadlines.
• Experience assisting with defense litigation cases in a legal office setting.
• Strong calendar management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks.
• Ability to produce accurate legal documents from dictation and attorney direction.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Compensation
