We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support complex payroll operations for a growing U.S. and Canadian workforce. This highly visible position will partner closely with Human Resources, Finance, and operational leaders to ensure payroll is processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with all applicable regulations and collective bargaining agreements.
Responsibilities
- Process high-volume payroll for union and non-union employees across multiple U.S. states and Canada
- Prepare and process certified payroll and all required weekly and monthly reporting
- Administer multi-state, multi-union payroll while ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements
- Maintain employee payroll records, earnings, deductions, garnishments, taxes, and benefit withholdings
- Prepare union reports, remittances, and government filings accurately and on time
- Partner with HR and Finance regarding payroll changes, audits, and compliance initiatives
- Assist with internal and external payroll audits by providing supporting documentation and analysis
- Stay current on payroll legislation, tax regulations, labor requirements, and Canadian payroll requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls, and overall efficiency

Qualifications:
Qualifications
- 3+ years of payroll experience supporting high-volume, multi-state payroll
- Experience processing union payroll and interpreting collective bargaining agreements
- Canadian payroll experience strongly preferred
- Certified payroll reporting experience is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
