Personal Injury Attorney
Responsibilities:
• Oversee plaintiff personal injury files from initial case review through settlement or litigation milestones with guidance from senior attorneys.
• Prepare a range of legal documents, including complaints, motion papers, discovery materials, client correspondence, and demand packages.
• Perform legal research and develop written analyses to support case strategy and motion practice.
• Participate in appearances before the court, status conferences, depositions, mediations, and other litigation events as appropriate to experience level.
• Serve as a consistent point of contact for clients, medical offices, insurers, and opposing counsel to keep matters progressing efficiently.
• Support litigation planning, settlement discussions, and trial readiness by organizing facts, evidence, and legal arguments.
• Examine medical records and related documentation to evaluate damages, liability, and case development needs.
• Keep case files, deadlines, and matter updates accurately recorded within the firm’s case management processes.
• Work closely with attorneys and legal support staff to advance matters effectively through each stage of litigation.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in New York; additional bar admissions in NJ, PA, and/or FL are viewed favorably.
• Up to 3 years of litigation experience, including work in plaintiff-side personal injury matters.
• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, pleadings, discovery documents, and other litigation materials.
• Strong legal research, written advocacy, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-moving legal environment.
• Highly organized approach with careful attention to detail and follow-through.
• Experience with SmartAdvocate and Spanish language skills are considered advantageous.
Compensation
