Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a construction and contractor team in Salem, Oregon on a Contract basis. This role is fully on-site and will provide part-time assistance. The position focuses on handling invoice-related tasks, supporting bill payment activities, and reviewing employee timecards to help maintain accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices accurately and ensure charges are assigned to the proper accounts or cost codes.

• Prepare and complete check runs to support timely payment of bills and ongoing financial obligations.

• Review submitted timecards for accuracy and follow up on discrepancies before payroll-related information is finalized.

• Maintain organized records of invoices, payment activity, and supporting documentation for tracking and audit purposes.

• Assist with day-to-day accounts payable operations to help keep workflows current during a short-term staffing need.

• Use QuickBooks and related internal accounting tools to enter, review, and manage payable transactions.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in accounts payable within an office or accounting environment.

• Familiarity with check runs, invoice entry, and payment processing procedures.

• Comfortable reviewing timecards and identifying missing or inconsistent information.

• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and confidence using accounting software for daily tasks.
