Collections Specialist

We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team in Landover, Maryland. As part of the wholesale distribution industry, this role involves managing and optimizing collection processes to ensure timely payments. This is a long-term contract position, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic and detail-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee commercial and consumer collection activities to ensure timely recovery of outstanding payments.
• Manage credit and collections processes, including analyzing accounts and resolving disputes.
• Communicate effectively with clients to address billing and payment concerns while maintaining positive relationships.
• Handle business-to-business (B2B) collections with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts to reduce delinquencies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline collection procedures and improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all collection efforts.
• Prepare detailed reports on collection activities and account statuses for management review.
• Identify areas for improvement within the collections process and recommend solutions.
• Maintain accurate records of all collection actions and communications.

Qualifications:

• Proven expertise in commercial and consumer collections.
• Strong knowledge of credit and collection processes, including billing and account reconciliation.
• Experience handling B2B collections with attention to detail and professionalism.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with clients and internal teams.
• Proficiency in using collection software and tools to manage accounts efficiently.
• Ability to analyze financial data and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards related to collections.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively.

Compensation

$19.00-$22.00 Hourly
