Patent Paralegal
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and submit U.S. patent prosecution documents to the appropriate agencies in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitor incoming correspondence, review updates, and enter critical deadlines and actions into the docketing system.
• Coordinate with external law firms and legal partners to support ongoing patent prosecution matters across the portfolio.
• Process assignment records, powers of attorney, and related documentation to maintain complete and current case files.
• Receive and organize legal mail and official notices, ensuring items are routed and tracked appropriately.
• Maintain accurate patent records and help ensure all prosecution-related materials are properly documented and accessible.
• Support routine intellectual property administration by following up on filings, deadlines, and required case actions.
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year of experience supporting U.S. patent prosecution or intellectual property matters.• Working knowledge of USPTO filing practices, prosecution procedures, and related documentation.
• Experience with docketing systems and managing deadlines for active patent matters.
• Familiarity with assignment recordation, powers of attorney, and standard patent prosecution processes.
• Ability to work effectively with outside counsel, attorneys, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail and accuracy in legal records management.
• Prior law firm experience is preferred.
• Comfort with either fully remote work or occasional onsite collaboration in San Jose, California.
