Accounts Payable Clerk
Responsibilities:
• Process incoming invoices by reviewing, coding, and entering payment information into accounting systems with a high level of accuracy.
• Prepare bills, account statements, and other financial documents while ensuring supporting records are complete and properly maintained.
• Record, organize, and summarize financial data to support accurate bookkeeping and ongoing accounts payable activities.
• Perform payment-related calculations such as balances due, discounts, and other routine financial figures needed for transaction processing.
• Reconcile bank activity and other payment records to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate account balances.
• Retrieve information from computerized financial systems to respond to general inquiries and resolve payment-related questions.
• Produce financial, statistical, and accounting reports that support tracking, review, and audit readiness.
• Use office and accounting tools, including calculators, computers, and copy equipment, to complete daily transactional and documentation tasks.
Qualifications:
• Experience supporting accounts payable functions in a detail-focused office or accounting environment.• Hands-on ability to code invoices, process invoices, and manage check runs accurately and on schedule.
• Strong data entry skills with close attention to numerical accuracy and financial detail.
• Proficiency using spreadsheets, accounting databases, and computerized financial systems.
• Ability to reconcile transactions and investigate discrepancies in payment or banking records.
• Comfortable preparing financial documentation, reports, and account-related records.
• Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle recurring deadlines.
