Position Overview
The Valar Group (a division of Sumaria Systems) is seeking highly experienced Electronic Warfare (EW) Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to support a potential U.S. Air Force initiative involving the collection, analysis, and operational application of flight data from aircraft and weapons systems. This is a 1099 consulting opportunity.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Electronic Warfare practitioner with hands-on operational or engineering expertise supporting airborne EW systems, mission planning, threat analysis, or developmental and operational test activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise in Electronic Warfare (EW) systems, capabilities, and operational employment.
- Support the collection, interpretation, and analysis of operational aircraft and weapons system data.
- Evaluate EW system performance, mission effectiveness, and threat responses.
- Provide technical recommendations supporting Air Force test organizations and acquisition stakeholders.
- Assist with mission planning, system integration, and capability assessments.
- Collaborate with government engineers, operators, and program offices to develop technical solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, briefings, and recommendations for government customers.
- Support developmental and operational testing activities as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Aviation, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent military/industry experience).
- 10+ years of Electronic Warfare experience supporting DoD programs.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with airborne Electronic Warfare systems.
- Strong understanding of RF spectrum operations, Electronic Attack (EA), Electronic Protection (EP), and Electronic Support (ES).
- Experience supporting military aircraft or weapon systems.
- Excellent communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Former Electronic Warfare Officer (EWO), Electronic Warfare Engineer, Mission Systems Engineer, Test Engineer, or Operational Flight Test professional.
- Experience supporting U.S. Air Force, AFLCMC, AFRL, Air Force Test Center, or other DoD test organizations.
- Experience supporting developmental or operational flight testing.
- Knowledge of airborne sensors, avionics, radar systems, RF systems, and mission systems integration.
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance.
