Overview
ITT Goulds Pumps is looking for a Product Design Engineer I to join their team in Seneca Falls, NY. This role plays a key role in bringing innovative products to life. Individuals in this role will contribute to product design and development, conduct testing and validation activities, and support ongoing continuous improvement efforts. This role works cross-functionally to troubleshoot challenges, provide support, and deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer and business needs. Working under the general direction of Engineering Management, this role offers the opportunity to grow and make a meaningful impact on product performance and success.
Responsibilities
- Assist with assigned projects, including product improvements, product extensions, product enhancements, new product development, and live order development.
- Assist with the design of pump components and assemblies for assigned product lines to achieve the lowest cost, ease of manufacture, and meet all relevant specifications
- Assist senior engineers in supporting Field Service and Warranty Services with solutions to problems in the field
- Support Sales and Applications for quoting special pump components
- Support global production facilities by resolving issues and ensuring the least cost manufacturing
- Participate on cross functional project teams
- Support live order design for engineering and design requirements related to customer orders
- Assist senior engineers in design and conducting complex laboratory and field experiments
- Assist senior engineers in conducting component and/or system modeling, analysis, and problem resolution using computer simulation and/or laboratory testing
- Assist senior engineers in creating technical reports for internal and external customer circulation
Qualifications
- B.S. Engineering is required
- 0-3 years of engineering experience is required
- CAD proficiency is required
- Prior internship experience in a similar industry is preferred
