We are searching for an experienced hotel Director of National Accounts. In this new role, the Director of National will report directly to the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing. Focusing on the acquisition and development of targeted Government agencies and specific market segments under the guidance and supervision of the Regional Director of Sales and Marketing. This position requires an active, aggressive, innovative attitude. The purpose of this position is to develop a strong presence with the major government room night suppliers in this market and to foster a long term commitment of business generation.

The Director of National Accounts is responsible for, but not limited to the following duties and activities:

Specific Responsibilities:

This individual is responsible for selling each hotel and conference center in the Washington, D.C. area in active support of the Mission Statement and the yield management efforts.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Generate maximum Rooms revenue through achievement of specific lead generation and call goal levels in support of each Washington, D.C. area hotel and conference centers as well as the Division’s yield strategies.
  • Actively support the Aggressive Revenue Growth element of the properties’ and Division Mission Statements by championing assigned targeted Government accounts, market segments and priorities.
  • Represent and promote our Washington, D.C. Area hotels to major Government room night generators in Dulles, Crystal City, Tysons Corner and Gaithersburg regions.
  • Through networking and review of relevant news and trade publications, keep abreast of all Government business activity requiring hotel needs in the Washington, D.C. area.
  • Maintain active involvement in supplier/planner oriented organizations such as SGTP, SGMP and ASTD and represent our hotels at appropriate Government conferences and tradeshows.
  • Meet or exceed personal call and revenue booking goals as outlined on the 13 week activity report in ESPS.
  • Prepare and submit on a timely basis all required weekly update reports and Quad Action Plans to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates independent problem-solving skills and identify process improvements needed.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong work ethic and professional focus; High level of integrity and discretion.
  • Ability to work extended hours based on business needs, with physically demanding responsibilities such as walking, standing, carrying, and lifting throughout the extended shift. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds on occasional basis.

Experience:

  • A track record of success in direct sales in the hotel industry with demonstrated experience in the Washington, D.C. area government/military market for a minimum of 3-4 years.
  • A proven track record of success in a hotel or a related service industry

Education:

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or related major, preferred.

Minimum and maximum wage or salary for the position

The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. Base pay is one component of B. F. Saul Company & Affiliates total compensation package, which also includes access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, bonus plans and more.
