Cost and Inventory Manager
We are seeking an experienced Cost & Inventory Manager to join a manufacturing organization in Milford, CT. This position plays a critical role in ensuring inventory accuracy, maintaining effective cost accounting processes, and delivering financial insights that drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in a manufacturing environment, hands-on expertise with SAP systems, and a proactive approach to inventory controls, reconciliations, and reporting.
Responsibilities:
• Lead inventory analysis efforts to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities to strengthen control over stock movement and valuation.
• Oversee inventory reconciliation processes by comparing system records with physical counts and resolving variances in a timely manner.
• Manage cost accounting activities related to materials, production, and inventory to ensure accurate financial reporting within a manufacturing setting.
• Coordinate annual inventory and physical count activities, including planning, execution support, variance review, and final documentation.
• Partner with operations, procurement, and finance teams to evaluate purchase price allocation impacts on inventory and product costing.
• Utilize SAP, SAP HANA, and S/4HANA tools to monitor inventory data, generate reports, and support decision-making across the business.
• Maintain strong internal controls around inventory transactions, cost allocation, and reporting accuracy.
• Support process improvements related to inventory tracking, costing methods, and data integrity across relevant systems.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in cost accounting, inventory management, or a closely related finance role within manufacturing.• Proven expertise in inventory analysis and inventory reconciliation in complex operational environments.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP, including experience with S/4HANA and SAP HANA platforms.
• Background in annual inventory planning and annual physical inventory execution.
• Experience assessing purchase price allocation and its effect on inventory valuation and cost structures.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles, controls, and financial reporting practices.
• Ability to investigate variances, interpret large data sets, and communicate findings clearly to cross-functional stakeholders.
Compensation
