Accounting Assistant

Robert Half Finance & Accounting is looking for an Accounting Assistant to support daily financial operations for a well established construction industry client in the West Palm Beach area. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable handling both payables and receivables while keeping records accurate and up to date. The position requires strong attention to detail, sound organizational skills, and the ability to assist with routine accounting activities that contribute to timely project accounting & month-end reports.

Responsibilities:

• Manage invoice entry and help coordinate outgoing payments to vendors with accuracy and timeliness.

• Support project billing activities, record incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.

• Handle daily deposit processing and maintain complete, accurate documentation of cash receipts.

• Keep vendor and project account records current, organized, and easy to retrieve.

• Assist with reconciling bank accounts and credit card statements on a regular basis.

• Compile, organize, and prepare contract documents, change orders and other compliance certificates.

• Contribute to month-end and year-end close tasks by ensuring financial information is complete and properly recorded.

• Assist with weekly payroll processing, maintain accurate records & update sensitive information.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant bookkeeping experience.

• Hands-on experience with general accounting duties.

• Working knowledge of construction industry a huge plus.

• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Proficiency with software systems & Intermediate skills in Excel.

• Ability to manage financial records in an organized manner and meet recurring deadlines.

Compensation
