Accounting Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a Contract position based in Montvale, New Jersey. This role is well suited to someone who is comfortable handling transactional accounting tasks, maintaining accurate records, and working across both payables and receivables functions. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, confidence using QuickBooks, and a careful approach to data accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage incoming vendor invoices, verify details for accuracy, and process payments in a timely manner.

• Prepare and issue customer invoices while monitoring outstanding balances and following up on receivables as needed.

• Enter financial information into accounting systems with a high level of precision and consistency.

• Maintain organized records of billing, payments, and supporting documentation for audit and reporting purposes.

• Reconcile account activity and help resolve discrepancies involving invoices, payments, or account balances.

• Use QuickBooks to record transactions, update account information, and support routine accounting workflows.

• Assist with general clerical and administrative tasks that support the accounting team’s daily operations.

Qualifications:

• Experience supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks in an accounting or bookkeeping environment.
• Strong data entry skills with close attention to detail and accuracy.
• Background in invoice processing, including reviewing, entering, and tracking invoices.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain organized financial records.
• Good written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external contacts.

Compensation

$15.84-$18.34 Hourly
