Project Lead

We are looking for a Project Lead to support a manufacturing operation in Kalamazoo, Michigan through a Long-term Contract assignment. This position will coordinate the movement of production assets to outside vendors for rework, monitor their status throughout the process, and help ensure they are returned on schedule to support ongoing operations. The role is well suited for someone who is comfortable balancing administrative tracking with regular communication on the manufacturing floor and with external partners.

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate weekly outbound shipments of production tooling and related assets to external vendors for refurbishment or rework.
• Maintain accurate tracking records in Excel to monitor items sent out, expected return dates, and completed receipts.
• Communicate with vendors to confirm shipment status, follow up on open items, and resolve delays that could affect operations.
• Partner with manufacturing floor leadership to gather updates, verify asset needs, and relay critical information between teams.
• Receive and document returned assets, ensuring records are updated promptly and discrepancies are escalated as needed.
• Organize project timelines and priorities so that high-volume movements are managed efficiently and deadlines are met.
• Support scanning, documentation, and general project coordination activities related to asset movement and status reporting.
• Participate in training and use available support resources to quickly learn processes, safety expectations, and workflow requirements.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience in project coordination, account management, scheduling, or a similar role requiring strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Excel with the ability to keep detailed, accurate tracking logs and status reports.
• Comfortable working across office and shop floor environments in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with vendors, internal managers, and operations personnel.
• Ability to manage multiple timelines at once and maintain follow-through on time-sensitive tasks.
• Willingness to wear steel-toed boots daily while on site; additional required protective equipment will be provided.
• Capable of learning new processes quickly and asking questions when clarification is needed.

Compensation

$19.79-$22.91 Hourly
