Accounting Assistant

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join an entertainment organization in San Francisco, California on a Long-term Contract assignment. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations and works closely with the Accounting Manager to keep payables, receivables, reconciliations, and expense processing accurate and current. The position begins with an onsite training schedule early in the week before transitioning into an onsite arrangement, and the initial engagement is expected to run 3 to 4 months with potential for extension.

Responsibilities:
• Partner with the Accounting Manager to maintain efficient daily accounting activities and support department priorities.
• Process vendor invoices, code charges accurately, and help ensure timely accounts payable completion.
• Manage accounts receivable activity, including preparing and tracking a steady volume of customer invoices.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions, including American Express activity and related transaction feeds.
• Review, audit, and enter employee expense submissions using the designated expense management system.
• Assist with semi-monthly payroll tasks for a large hourly employee population as needed.
• Monitor financial records for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and resolve routine accounting issues promptly.
• Contribute during the team transition by providing dependable operational support and maintaining continuity across accounting workflows.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience in a support or assistant capacity.

• Practical experience handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.

• Strong background in bank and credit card reconciliations.

• Proficiency with QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting tasks.

• Experience coding invoices accurately and maintaining organized financial documentation.

• Familiarity with expense reporting processes and payroll support responsibilities.

Compensation

$26.00-$33.00 Hourly
