Commercial Litigation Attorney

Our client, a California business law firm, is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Attorney to join the team on a contract basis in support of three active commercial litigation matters. This attorney will serve as a substantive resource to the litigation team, contributing to complex legal research and writing, motion practice, and other strategic written advocacy. The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of commercial litigation experience and be able to quickly integrate into active matters with minimal direction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct complex legal research and writing in support of commercial litigation matters.
• Draft and revise motions, oppositions, replies, memoranda of points and authorities, and other substantive legal briefs.
• Support law-and-motion practice, including dispositive motions and other significant pretrial motions.
• Analyze statutes, case law, and other legal authority to develop well-supported legal arguments.
• Collaborate with litigation counsel on legal strategy and written advocacy.
• Provide substantive litigation support across three active commercial litigation matters.

Qualifications:

• Active California Bar license in good standing.
• Minimum of seven years of commercial litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Demonstrated experience with legal research and writing in complex commercial litigation matters.
• Extensive experience drafting substantive motions, briefs, memoranda of points and authorities, and other litigation filings.
• Strong law-and-motion experience.
• Ability to independently manage substantive legal writing assignments.
• Must reside in California.

Additional Details

• Approximately 12-month contract engagement.
• Full-time (40 hours/week) preferred; attorneys able to consistently commit 20-30 hours per week will also be considered.
