Legal Assistant

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to support a boutique law firm in Coral Gables, Florida. This Contract position is ideal for someone with experience in civil litigation who can keep filings, calendars, and legal documentation organized in a fast-paced practice. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys while helping manage day-to-day case support and scheduling responsibilities, with openness to a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and submit court documents through electronic filing systems in accordance with applicable deadlines and procedural rules.
• Maintain attorney and case calendars by tracking hearings, filing dates, meetings, and other critical litigation milestones.
• Coordinate depositions, client meetings, and other appointments by communicating with attorneys, court personnel, and outside parties.
• Draft routine legal correspondence, pleadings, notices, and supporting documents for attorney review.
• Organize and update case files, ensuring records, filings, and related materials are accurate and readily accessible.
• Monitor case activity and follow up on upcoming deadlines to support efficient litigation workflow.
• Provide general administrative and legal support for civil litigation matters as needed by the firm.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in a Legal Assistant role, with a background supporting civil litigation matters.
• Hands-on experience with electronic court filing procedures and related documentation requirements.
• Strong ability to manage calendars, coordinate schedules, and prioritize multiple deadlines effectively.
• Experience arranging depositions, appointments, and other litigation-related meetings.
• Proficiency in drafting standard legal documents and correspondence.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work accurately in a deadline-driven environment.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a boutique law firm setting.

Compensation

$19.95-$22.00 Hourly
