Human Resources Generalist

We are looking for a bilingual Human Resources Generalist to provide onsite support for a retail operation in California. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is well suited for someone who can balance core HR administration with workplace safety coordination in a fast-moving environment. The person in this role will work closely with site leadership to support employees, uphold policy compliance, and promote safe day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee essential employee lifecycle activities such as onboarding, separation processing, and upkeep of personnel documentation.
• Maintain accurate HR records and update workforce information in internal systems to support reporting and compliance needs.
• Coordinate with payroll and timekeeping processes to help ensure employee hours and related data are submitted correctly.
• Deliver employee communications and assist with training activities that reinforce company expectations, procedures, and workplace standards.
• Collaborate with managers on staffing priorities, workforce planning, and general employee relations support.
• Help administer site safety practices by reinforcing procedures, monitoring compliance, and supporting a safe work environment.
• Lead safety onboarding sessions and provide ongoing instruction to employees on required workplace protocols.
• Assist with incident documentation, follow-up investigations, and implementation of corrective actions when needed.
• Conduct routine safety checks and inspections while maintaining required logs, reports, and compliance records.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in human resources, safety coordination, or a closely related role.
• Fluency in both Spanish and English is required.
• Background supporting HR processes such as onboarding, employee records management, and policy administration.
• Familiarity with timekeeping, payroll coordination, or HRIS platforms is preferred.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices and compliance expectations in an operational setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business software.
• Strong organization, communication, and follow-through skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities onsite.

Compensation

$27.55-$31.90 Hourly
