Staff Accountant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support financial operations for a portfolio of entities in Bellevue, Washington. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate records, supporting month-end close, and providing reporting that helps project and business leaders make informed decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, a solid understanding of tax and reconciliation work, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a construction and real estate environment.
Responsibilities:
• Produce and examine monthly financial reports across multiple company entities to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare month-end journal entries and apply established accounting standards to support an efficient and accurate close process.
• Partner with construction leadership to track project costs, monitor work-in-progress activity, and deliver monthly job cost analysis.
• Record and analyze home sale transactions, including comparisons between projected budgets and actual project costs.
• Enter and maintain accounting records related to land purchases, land sales, and other real estate transactions.
• Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger each month and investigate discrepancies to resolution.
• Post daily cash activity, including incoming receipts and outgoing payments, while maintaining accurate account balances.
• Prepare applicable state and local tax filings, including business and occupation tax returns and semiannual property tax reporting.
• Manage intercompany accounting entries, support annual audit requests, and review invoices and employee expense charges for accuracy and proper authorization.
• Address questions from employees and vendors promptly while assisting the broader accounting team with ad hoc assignments and special projects as needed.
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 + discretionary bonus.

Qualifications:
• Detail-oriented experience in staff accounting with strong working knowledge of general ledger processes and journal entry preparation.• Background in construction, real estate, or a related industry with an understanding of job costing and project-based accounting.
• Experience preparing or supporting corporate tax, sales tax, or other state and local tax filings.
• Ability to perform account reconciliations, analyze financial data, and identify variances with a high degree of accuracy.
• Familiarity with intercompany transactions, cash activity recording, and month-end close procedures.
• Proficiency with accounting systems such as Acumatica and strong overall technical accounting skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage work across multiple entities and meet recurring deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with vendors, employees, auditors, and internal business partners.
Compensation
