Customer Service Representative

We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to join a team in East Rutherford, New Jersey in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role focuses on delivering responsive support to customers, coordinating closely with sales, logistics, and other internal partners to keep orders moving efficiently. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, sound judgment, and a service-driven approach to managing quotes, orders, and post-order inquiries.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries across multiple product lines, providing timely and attentive support throughout the sales cycle.
• Develop strong working relationships with customers by addressing questions, setting clear expectations, and following through on commitments.
• Prepare accurate pricing quotations and coordinate with internal teams to ensure requests are completed within expected timeframes.
• Enter customer orders into company systems with close attention to detail and confirm order information to support smooth processing.
• Partner with the sales organization by supplying quote assistance, delivery updates, and order-related reporting as needed.
• Oversee day-to-day order activity, including confirmations, shipment updates, backorder communication, and status follow-up with customers.
• Investigate and resolve issues involving orders, deliveries, invoices, and returns by working across operations, supply chain, and logistics functions.
• Support shipping operations by preparing documentation, verifying accuracy, and returning completed paperwork to the warehouse on schedule.
• Conduct routine customer check-ins, document follow-up items, and monitor action plans to help maintain a high level of service.
• Handle inbound customer communications and assist with outbound follow-up related to order updates, service questions, and issue resolution.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Business or a related field, along with at least 2 years of experience in customer service, sales support, or sales operations.
• Demonstrated background in inside sales or customer-facing support, with the ability to manage order activity and customer requests effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and order entry systems used in a fast-paced business environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
• Strong ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and maintain accuracy with minimal supervision.
• Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication, listening, and collaboration skills.
• Problem-solving ability with a practical approach to resolving service and operational issues.
• Industry familiarity within signage or architectural lighting is an advantage.

Compensation

$23.75-$27.50 Hourly
