Attorney/Lawyer
We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to support a probate and trust administration practice in California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and can step into an active caseload quickly, communicate confidently with clients, and move matters forward with minimal oversight. The role focuses on transactional probate and estate administration work, with substantial responsibility for reviewing files, preparing pleadings, and helping bring matters to resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of assigned probate and trust administration matters and advance each file efficiently from current status toward completion.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients by providing updates, answering questions, and guiding them through the next steps in their matters.
- Review case files in detail to identify outstanding tasks, clarify procedural posture, and determine the actions needed to keep matters progressing.
- Prepare, revise, and file probate pleadings, petitions, and other supporting documents in accordance with court requirements and deadlines.
- Draft key probate materials, including final petitions for distribution and other closing documents necessary to resolve estate matters.
- Support hearing and trial preparation by organizing records, confirming filings, and ensuring attorneys appearing in court are fully prepared.
- Manage a high-volume workload by prioritizing active matters, monitoring calendars, and maintaining momentum across multiple cases at once.
- Coordinate with the legal team to wrap up delayed or pending client matters and help move long-standing files toward timely resolution
Qualifications:
Requirements
- Active attorney license required.
- At least 3-5 years of experience handling probate, trust administration, or estate administration matters in California
- Demonstrated ability to manage files independently and contribute effectively with limited supervision.
- Hands-on experience drafting and filing probate pleadings, petitions, and related court documents.
- Strong client communication skills, with the ability to explain case status and next steps clearly and professionally.
- Experience preparing matters for hearings or trial support in a probate setting.
- Ability to work effectively in either a remote or on-site arrangement while maintaining responsiveness and organization.
Compensation
