Senior Financial Reporting Accountant

Greeley, CO 80634, US Full Time
Compensation: $75 to $95 Yearly

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join a large, high-volume agriculture organization in Colorado. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a complex corporate environment, possesses a strong foundation in financial reporting and technical accounting, and is passionate about maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will play a critical role in the organization's financial reporting process, supporting monthly close activities, consolidated reporting, and general ledger oversight across multiple entities. This individual will work closely with finance leadership, auditors, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and adherence to accounting standards. The ideal candidate combines analytical skills with attention to detail and can effectively manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules while helping ensure the successful completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Maintain oversight of general ledger activity, reviewing transactions and account balances to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established accounting policies.
  • Perform complex account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet analyses, proactively investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, review, and post journal entries to support routine accounting operations, reporting requirements, and month-end close activities.
  • Support consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities, including intercompany activity and foreign currency translation adjustments where applicable.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors by preparing schedules, organizing supporting documentation, responding to inquiries, and assisting throughout audit and review engagements.
  • Operate effectively within a large corporate accounting environment, managing substantial transaction volume while consistently meeting reporting deadlines and maintaining reporting accuracy.
  • Assist with the implementation of accounting process improvements, system enhancements, and operational changes designed to strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and support organizational growth.
  • Collaborate with finance and operational teams to ensure the accurate flow of financial information and alignment with corporate accounting policies.
  • Analyze financial data and reporting trends to identify potential issues, recommend solutions, and support informed business decision-making.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and documentation of accounting procedures, helping maintain standardized processes and reporting consistency across the organization.
  • Support special projects and strategic finance initiatives as assigned, providing accounting expertise and reporting support to business leaders.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional seeking exposure to complex reporting matters, multi-entity environments, and large-scale accounting operations while contributing to a highly collaborative and growth-oriented finance team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred; equivalent practical experience may also be considered.

• 3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally including both public accounting and industry exposure.

• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP; familiarity with IFRS is an advantage.

• Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, consolidations, and ownership of general ledger processes.

• Proficiency in Excel with the ability to work efficiently with detailed financial data.

• Background in large, high-volume corporate environments is required.

• Experience with foreign currency translation and audit support is strongly preferred.

• CPA certification or active progress toward certification is preferred.
