Senior Staff Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to oversee accounting operations for a diverse portfolio that includes an assisted living facility, a skilled nursing facility, a medical office building, and a retreat house. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing billing and accounts receivable, preparing financial statements, performing reconciliations, and providing financial analysis to support organizational decision-making. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Billing & Accounts Receivable
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately documented and classified in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Oversee invoice processing and ensure timely, accurate billing to customers and clients.
- Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collection efforts as needed.
General Accounting
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and complete month-end closing activities.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial records.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including:
- Balance Sheets
- Income Statements
- Cash Flow Statements
- Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
- Present financial information and reports to leadership in a clear and meaningful manner.
Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate with external auditors by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to audit requests.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Asset Management
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Ensure accurate accounting and reporting for property, plant, and equipment.
Process Improvement
- Stay current on accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices.
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting systems.
Qualifications:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a multi-entity or corporate environment.
- Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
Compensation
