Accounts Receivable Specialist

Our client, a growing mid-sized company in Des Moines, is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to support its accounting team. This contract-to-hire role offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills in billing, collections, and customer account management while working in a collaborative and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process customer invoices, payments, credits, and account adjustments.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding accounts to ensure timely collections.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and customer inquiries.
• Reconcile accounts receivable balances and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain accurate customer records and collaborate with internal teams to support billing accuracy.

Qualifications:

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required; equivalent to 2+ years of Accounts Receivable, Billing, or related accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems including Quickbooks, Sage, Oracle, NetSuite
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
