Job Description
The Postdoctoral Associate will support a Gates Foundation-funded research project focused on developing and validating a triboelectric nanogenerator-based biosensor for HIV viral load detection. Responsibilities will include assisting with device fabrication and optimization, conducting laboratory experiments with blood samples, analyzing electrical signals, evaluating device sensitivity and repeatability, maintaining experimental records, and contributing to reports, presentations, and manuscripts. The associate will work closely with engineering and clinical collaborators at the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC. The project aims to develop a portable platform for rapid HIV monitoring using small blood samples.
Qualifications
- PhD in bioengineering, mechanical engineering, materials science, civil engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience with experimental research, biosensors, nanogenerators, biomedical devices, or related technologies.
- Experience with data analysis and scientific documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary research team.
- Experience with blood testing, electrical measurements, device fabrication, or 3D printing is preferred.
