Post Doctoral Associate

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a postdoctoral associate in ion channel biophysics and lipid signaling, to begin August 24, 2026. Applicants must have a background in electrophysiology, membrane biophysics, or cellular signal transduction with a PhD in biology or an applicable field.

The successful candidate will work with members of the laboratory to investigate lipid-dependent regulation of ion channels, with a focus on TMEM16A calcium-activated chloride channels, using patch-clamp electrophysiology, biochemical, and computational approaches. Minimum requirements include 3+ years of hands-on experience with patch-clamp electrophysiology and experience studying lipid regulation of ion channels; preferred qualifications include direct expertise with TMEM16A channels and a demonstrated publication record in this specific research area.
