Attorney/Lawyer

We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to support a long-term contract engagement with a law firm in Tallahassee, Florida on a remote basis. This position focuses on land use, planning, and local government matters, with an emphasis on producing high-quality legal analysis and written work. The ideal candidate brings strong research capabilities, strong drafting skills, and the ability to handle complex legal issues with precision and sound judgment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth legal research related to land use, zoning, planning, and local government issues.

• Prepare a range of legal documents, including memoranda, motions, responses, briefs, and business correspondence.

• Analyze statutes, regulations, ordinances, and case law to support ongoing matters and legal strategy.

• Assist attorneys and stakeholders by developing clear written arguments and practical legal recommendations.

• Review legislative and regulatory materials to identify impacts on client matters and active cases.

• Support case and project work involving local government processes, planning considerations, and regulatory compliance.

• Organize and synthesize research findings into concise, well-supported written deliverables.

• Contribute legal insight on matters that require careful interpretation of municipal and governmental rules.

Qualifications:

• Active attorney license in Florida in good standing.

• At least 3 plus years of legal experience, in land use, planning, and or local government law.

• Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, memoranda, and other legal documents with a high level of accuracy.

• Strong legal research skills, including experience with legislative, regulatory, and manual research methods.

• Working knowledge of zoning, planning, land use, and government regulation matters.

• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to present complex legal analysis clearly and effectively.

• Prior judicial clerkship experience is highly valued.
