Junior Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Review and enter vendor invoices accurately while maintaining timely processing of a moderate weekly volume of accounts payable transactions.
• Assign appropriate general ledger codes to invoices and verify supporting documentation before posting.
• Prepare weekly payment batches and assist with issuing checks in accordance with internal approval procedures.
• Contribute to accounts receivable activities by supporting invoicing, tracking outstanding balances, and following up on routine collection items.
• Assist with commission-related accounting tasks and provide support on department projects as business needs arise.
• Organize, receive, and process financial records and other accounting documentation to maintain accurate files.
• Support basic financial analysis and help compile information needed for reporting and account review.
• Take on additional accounting assignments over time, including broader support across the department as responsibilities develop.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of experience in an entry-level accounting position.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and accounting entries.
• Experience with account reconciliations and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to apply general ledger coding accurately and consistently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking, analysis, and routine accounting tasks.
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Compensation
