Associate Development Coordinator
We are looking for an Associate Development Coordinator to support the client’s Footwear Development team throughout the product creation process, from initial tech package setup through final product confirmation. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for footwear, product creation, and the action sports lifestyle who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
In this role you will partner with Development, Product, Design, Sourcing, and other cross-functional teams to help deliver high-quality footwear products that meet client standards for innovation, performance, quality, and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support footwear development projects from tech package creation through final production confirmation.
· Assist in coordinating product information, development timelines, and project deliverables across cross-functional teams.
· Maintain accurate development documentation, specifications, and product records.
· Help build and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product data within PLM systems.
· Communicate development updates and follow up on action items to ensure projects remain on schedule.
· Collaborate with Development, Design, Product Merchandising, Sourcing, and Manufacturing partners throughout the product creation process.
· Track sample progress, development milestones, and product changes.
· Assist with product costing and margin-related development activities.
· Support data management, reporting, and administrative functions related to footwear development.
Qualifications:
Core Qualifications:
· 1–2+ years of experience in footwear development, product development, merchandising, sourcing, or a related field.
· Basic understanding of footwear construction, materials, and product development processes.
· Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
· Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability.
· Passion for footwear, product creation, and consumer products.
· Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
· Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow within a product development organization.
· Appreciation for and connection to the action sports, lifestyle, or outdoor industry.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Product Development, Fashion Merchandising, Industrial Design, or a related field.
· Experience working in the footwear, apparel, sporting goods, or consumer products industry.
· Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, preferably Flex PLM.
· Experience creating or maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
· Exposure to product costing, sourcing, manufacturing, or supplier management processes.
· Internship or professional experience supporting product creation teams.
· Understanding of footwear development timelines from concept through commercialization.
Compensation
