Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Chantilly, Virginia on a Contract basis. This position focuses on processing a high volume of payables activity with accuracy, strong attention to detail, and consistent follow-through. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with invoice entry, payment processing, and account coding while supporting day-to-day financial operations. Experience with Sage Intacct is highly valued for success in this role.

Responsibilities:
• Process vendor invoices accurately and record payment details in the accounts payable system in a timely manner.
• Assign proper general ledger codes and verify supporting information before transactions are posted.
• Maintain organized accounts payable records and ensure data entered into financial systems is complete and accurate.
• Support ACH payments and check run activities while following established approval and payment procedures.
• Review invoices for discrepancies, resolve routine issues, and coordinate with internal stakeholders or vendors as needed.
• Assist with daily accounts payable operations to help keep payment timelines on track and documentation current.

Qualifications:

• Experience handling accounts payable transactions in a detail-focused business environment.
• Working knowledge of invoice coding and general ledger account allocation.
• Familiarity with ACH processing and check payment procedures.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple invoices and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience using Intacct or Sage Intacct is preferred.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and vendors.

Compensation

$28.50-$33.00 Hourly
