Staff Accountant

Looking to identify experienced Staff Accountant for an immediate opening. This is an onsite position (5 days per week) in South Los Angeles and is available on either a direct hire or contract-to-hire basis.

Salary: $70,000–$75,000 annually, depending on experience.

We're seeking an accounting professional with nonprofit, grant accounting, or government funding experience who enjoys working in a mission-driven environment and has a strong understanding of fund accounting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts and journal entries.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and grant funding.
• Track grant expenditures and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
• Assist with grant reporting and financial reporting for multiple funding sources.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and audit preparation.
• Prepare financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow.
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal controls.
• Collaborate with program managers and leadership regarding grant budgets and financial performance.
• Assist with annual audits and other special accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Staff Accountant experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
• Experience with grant accounting, fund accounting, or government-funded programs is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

$70,000.00-$75,000.00 Yearly
