Human Resources (HR) Assistant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support regional HR operations for an organization based in Pennsylvania. This contract opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing administrative precision with employee support across multiple states. In this role, you will help coordinate key HR activities throughout the employee lifecycle while partnering closely with HR team members to keep processes organized, compliant, and responsive.
Responsibilities:
• Support HR partners and team members with day-to-day coordination, documentation, and follow-up related to employee matters and routine operations.
• Manage onboarding and separation activities by organizing onboarding steps, offboarding tasks, and employee status updates to create a smooth experience for staff.
• Draft employment documents such as offer letters and other HR communications, and track pre-employment items including background screenings and required onboarding paperwork.
• Review and complete onboarding requirements, including employment eligibility documentation, to help maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
• Enter and update personnel changes in HR systems, including role changes, compensation adjustments, transfers, resignations, and terminations, while preserving accurate records.
• Maintain confidential employee files and HR data with a strong focus on accuracy, consistency, and alignment with company policies and employment requirements.
• Assist with audits, reporting requests, and process improvement efforts that strengthen efficiency and standardization across HR activities.
• Collaborate with internal HR specialists and business stakeholders to support regional workforce needs and respond to employee inquiries in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
• At least 2 years of experience in human resources support, HR coordination, or a similar administrative HR role.• Hands-on experience with onboarding activities, employee documentation, and personnel record maintenance.
• Working knowledge of HRIS platforms and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with candidate screening coordination, new employee paperwork, and employment eligibility documentation.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a multi-state environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide effective support to employees and internal HR teams.
• Experience assisting with employee relations matters, compliance reporting, or HR operational processes is preferred.
