Legal Assistant
We are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join a legal team in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts. This role will provide dedicated support to an attorney handling probate, trust, estate, and related litigation matters during a leave coverage period. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, adapts quickly to legal technology, and communicates effectively while contributing to a collaborative office environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support for matters involving probate, trusts, estates, and related court proceedings.
• Prepare, organize, and file legal documents accurately, including court submissions and electronic filings within required deadlines.
• Manage calendars, track hearings and case milestones, and help coordinate schedules for the attorney and related matters.
• Maintain well-structured case files, correspondence, and supporting documentation to ensure timely access to information.
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and internal team members regarding case updates, scheduling, and document needs.
• Assist with litigation-related tasks connected to probate matters, including document preparation and follow-up on filing requirements.
• Learn and use office and legal systems efficiently to support workflow needs and maintain continuity during the coverage period.
• Contribute to the broader team as needed by handling additional support tasks and helping address shifting prioritie
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in a Legal Assistant role supporting probate, trust and estates, or civil litigation matters.• Working knowledge of probate procedures, court filings, and electronic filing practices.
• Strong ability to manage calendars, deadlines, and multiple active matters with a high level of accuracy.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
• Comfort with learning new software, legal platforms, and office systems quickly.
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail in document handling and case support.
• A collaborative, dependable approach and willingness to assist with a range of team needs.
Compensation
