Logistics/Packing Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Logistics/Packing Clerk to support packaging and shipment preparation activities in Houston, Texas. This Long-term Contract position focuses on protecting complex equipment, maintaining accurate shipment records, and working closely with operations teams to ensure materials are packed and moved safely. The role is ideal for someone who is comfortable following technical instructions, handling large assemblies, and maintaining high quality and compliance standards.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare complex equipment and related components for shipment using specialized crates and protective packing methods.
• Interpret packing guidelines, technical drawings, and written procedures to complete work accurately.
• Operate material-handling equipment and common shop tools to transport or position heavy items safely.
• Check parts and packed assemblies during the process to confirm they meet required specifications and quality expectations.
• Complete packing paperwork, verification forms, and shipment labels with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Examine crates and packaged items for damage, missing materials, or assembly issues, and escalate concerns promptly.
• Follow company quality practices, customer requirements, and applicable export or regulatory packaging standards.
• Maintain organized work areas and comply with controlled-environment or clean workspace procedures, including 7S practices.
• Partner with assembly, quality, and logistics personnel to coordinate shipment readiness and assist with truck loading activities.

Qualifications:

• Experience in logistics, packing, shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse or manufacturing support role.
• Ability to read and follow written work instructions, specifications, and basic technical drawings.
• Comfortable using hand tools and material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hoists.
• Strong attention to detail when inspecting materials, completing documentation, and applying shipment labels.
• Knowledge of shipping functions, packaging procedures, and general logistics operations.
• Ability to identify damaged, incomplete, or nonconforming items and report issues clearly.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and secure handling of sensitive equipment.

Compensation

$19.00-$22.00 Hourly
