Tax Preparer
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and examine personal, business, and corporate tax filings with a strong emphasis on accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
• Review financial records such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and bookkeeping documentation to confirm data integrity before returns are finalized.
• Use UltraTax, SurePrep, and QuickBooks to organize client information, complete tax workpapers, and support efficient return preparation.
• Interpret current tax rules and apply updated regulatory guidance to help ensure compliant filings across a range of client situations.
• Assess client financial information to identify tax-saving opportunities, reporting issues, or areas where accounting practices could be improved.
• Respond to client questions in a thorough and service-oriented manner, providing clear explanations and timely follow-up throughout the tax process.
• Work closely with other team members to resolve complex tax scenarios and contribute to high-quality client outcomes.
Qualifications:
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience preparing tax returns for individuals and business entities.• Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals, financial reporting concepts, and practical corporate accounting methods.
• Demonstrated proficiency with tax and accounting software, including QuickBooks and UltraTax.
• Experience reviewing bookkeeping records and performing financial analysis to support accurate tax reporting.
• High level of accuracy, strong numerical ability, and careful attention to detail in data entry and document review.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for working with clients and collaborating with a small team.
• Ability to keep pace with changing tax laws and apply updates appropriately in day-to-day work.
• Active CPA, EA, or comparable tax credential required.
Compensation
