Part-time Temporary Payroll Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-time Contract Payroll Clerk to support payroll operations for an organization based in Topeka, Kansas. This Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable handling payroll records with accuracy, maintaining organized data, and helping ensure employees are paid correctly and on time. The person in this role will contribute to day-to-day payroll processing while working carefully with confidential information and established procedures.

Responsibilities:
• Process payroll information accurately and on schedule for employees within a mid-sized workforce environment.
• Enter, review, and update payroll-related data to maintain complete and reliable records.
• Verify timekeeping and pay details to help ensure wages, deductions, and adjustments are calculated correctly.
• Assist with full-cycle payroll activities, including preparing payroll inputs and reviewing final outputs before submission.
• Maintain documentation related to garnishments, deductions, and other payroll changes in accordance with company procedures.
• Respond to routine payroll questions and help resolve discrepancies by researching employee records and payment details.
• Support audits and reporting needs by organizing payroll files and providing accurate data when requested.

Qualifications:

• Experience performing payroll duties in an office setting.
• Working knowledge of full-cycle payroll processes and standard payroll practices.
• Ability to handle payroll data entry with a high level of speed and accuracy.
• Familiarity with payroll deductions and garnishment processing.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential employee information responsibly.
• Basic proficiency with office software and systems used to maintain payroll records.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work reliably in a part-time contract assignment.

Compensation

$20.00-$22.00 Hourly
