Compensation: $100 to $120 Yearly

We are looking for a tax specialist to join our team in California, supporting a broad client base that includes privately held businesses and high-net-worth individuals. This position combines tax return preparation with accounting-related work and offers the opportunity to contribute in a hands-on, client-service-driven environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax knowledge, careful attention to detail, and the ability to manage financial information accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare federal and related tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts with a high level of accuracy and timeliness.
• Examine client financial records and supporting documentation to identify missing information, inconsistencies, or items requiring clarification before filing.
• Help maintain compliance by applying current tax regulations and verifying that completed filings meet applicable standards and deadlines.
• Provide accounting support through full-cycle bookkeeping tasks, including the preparation of adjusting journal entries when needed.
• Use accounting and tax software such as QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Sage, and CCH products to complete daily work efficiently.
• Create clear, organized workpapers that support return preparation and facilitate internal review procedures.
• Communicate with clients as needed to request documents, answer routine tax-related questions, and assist with follow-up items.
• Contribute to the delivery of responsive service for clients with diverse financial situations, including closely held businesses and more complex individual tax matters.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of practical experience preparing federal income tax returns in a public accounting or similar detail-focused setting.
• Demonstrated background working with tax filings for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Minimum 5 years of experience using QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and Sage in an accounting or tax capacity.
• Familiarity with CCH ProSystem, CCH ProSystem fx, or related tax software tools is beneficial.
• Experience serving small business clients and high-net-worth individuals with sound judgment and a client-focused approach.
• Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail and the ability to manage documentation accurately.
• CPA or EA credential preferred, or active progress toward obtaining one.
• Knowledge of trust and real estate tax matters is a plus.

$100,000.00-$120,000.00 Yearly
