Legal Assistant

Robert Half is partnering with a well-established law firm in Hackensack, NJ to identify an experienced Legal Assistant / Paralegal to provide immediate support during a staffing transition.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and respected legal team while supporting attorneys in a variety of practice areas.

The firm is seeking a seasoned legal professional with strong litigation experience who can quickly step in, learn new systems, and assist attorneys with day-to-day legal support.

Start Date: July 31, 2026 (Immediate Need)

Location: Hackensack, NJ

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Duration: Minimum One-Month Assignment with Potential Extension

Work Environment: 100% On-Site

Pay Rate: $25–$32 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal and administrative support to attorneys and legal staff
• Prepare, revise, proofread, and file legal documents
• Manage case files and maintain document organization
• Handle electronic court filings and related litigation support activities
• Coordinate calendars, deadlines, hearings, and case management tasks
• Assist with document production and discovery preparation
• Support civil litigation, commercial litigation, real estate, trusts and estates, and related matters
• Maintain documents within NetDocuments (NetDocs) and other firm systems

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal required
• Litigation experience strongly preferred
• Experience with e-filing and court filing systems required
• Familiarity with New Jersey court procedures preferred
• Experience supporting civil litigation matters
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new systems quickly
• NetDocuments (NetDocs) experience preferred
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize competing deadlines
