Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to support a manufacturing organization in Wilmington, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and confident handling high-volume invoice activity in a fast-paced environment. The person in this role will help maintain accurate payment records, ensure invoices are reviewed and entered correctly, and contribute to the smooth execution of daily accounts payable operations.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper supporting documentation before processing
• Assign appropriate general ledger or cost codes to invoices and enter payment information into the accounting system
• Manage invoice processing workflows to ensure vendor payments are handled within established timelines
• Prepare and coordinate check runs while confirming payment amounts and approval status
• Reconcile accounts payable records and investigate discrepancies related to pricing, quantities, or missing details
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice questions and payment issues
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation for audit readiness and reporting needs

Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in accounts payable, preferably within a manufacturing or similar operational environment
• Hands-on ability to code invoices accurately and process a steady volume of payables transactions
• Experience supporting check runs and ensuring timely, accurate payment execution
• Solid understanding of invoice review, data entry, and payment documentation practices
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently
• Proficiency with standard accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments

Compensation

$30.00-$32.00 Hourly
