General Ledger Accountant

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant for a short-term contract assignment. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, help maintain the accuracy of financial records, and assist with key close and reconciliation activities. The ideal candidate can step in quickly, work independently, and ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment. This role will be mostly remote with travel involved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Support month-end and year-end close activities
• Perform account and bank reconciliations
• Review financial data and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with reporting, audit support, and documentation requests
• Help ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
• Partner with the accounting team to address backlog, process gaps, or workload demands

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 7+ years of general ledger or corporate accounting experience
• Strong understanding of month-end close and reconciliations
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a deadline-driven setting
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• CPA
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft D365, or Workday
