Accountant II
We are hiring for an Accountant II to join a complex, multi-entity organization where this individual will play a key role across a broad range of accounting functions. This position will support month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, project and fixed asset accounting, tax-related activities, financial reporting, and special projects, while also providing backup support to Accounts Payable during high-volume periods.
We are seeking a versatile, hands-on accounting professional who enjoys variety in their work and can comfortably balance accounting, tax, project, and operational responsibilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, adaptable, and thrives in a dynamic environment. Prior tax experience is preferred, and a CPA or CPA-track candidate is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Close Activities
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts across designated entities.
- Assist with monthly close processes, including journal entry preparation, accruals, account analysis, and variance investigations.
- Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved.
- Maintain organized and accurate supporting documentation for accounting records and reconciliations.
- Provide support for audits, tax matters, and financial reporting requirements.
Tax & Compliance Support
- Collect, organize, and maintain tax-related schedules, data, and supporting documentation.
- Assist with tax deliverables, including PBC requests and coordination with outside tax consultants.
- Maintain records related to entity activity, fixed assets, property taxes, and other compliance-sensitive areas.
- Help track filing deadlines, compliance requirements, and outstanding items associated with tax projects.
Capital Projects & Fixed Assets
- Monitor capital expenditures and construction-in-progress projects, including invoice tracking, cost accumulation, asset additions, transfers, and disposals.
- Maintain fixed asset records and supporting schedules.
- Review and reconcile project-related costs to ensure proper coding and accuracy.
- Assist with tracking asset-related property taxes and insurance information.
Accounts Payable Support
- Process vendor invoices in NetSuite and Stampli as business needs require.
- Provide AP support during employee absences, peak workloads, and month-end cycles.
- Assist with invoice coding, approval follow-up, issue resolution, and document management.
- Ensure project-related, fixed asset, and tax-sensitive invoices are accurately coded and tracked.
Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes, reconciliations, documentation, and workflows.
- Collaborate with departments including AP, payroll, treasury, tax, operations, and management.
- Support cross-training initiatives to strengthen team flexibility and operational continuity.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance.
· 2–5 years of accounting experience preferred.
· Prior tax experience preferred.
· CPA or CPA candidate highly desirable.
· Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
· Exposure to fixed assets, project accounting, CIP, or property-related accounting preferred.
· ERP experience required; NetSuite experience preferred.
· Strong Excel skills and ability to work with detailed schedules and supporting documentation.
· Experience in a multi-entity environment is preferred.
· Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through.
· Ability to balance recurring accounting responsibilities with changing priorities and special projects.
· Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across departments.
