Senior Systems Engineer

Austin, TX | Contract | Hybrid (3 days on site)

Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join a growing IT Infrastructure team responsible for modern workplace technologies, endpoint management, automation, and enterprise systems engineering. This individual will play a key role in designing, supporting, and optimizing endpoint and virtual desktop environments while helping drive technology modernization initiatives across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a systems engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving operational efficiency through automation, and supporting secure, scalable technology platforms.

• Design, implement, and support enterprise endpoint and workplace technology solutions.
• Administer and optimize Windows-based environments, virtual desktop platforms, and endpoint management technologies.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, desktop, and endpoint issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Serve as a senior escalation resource for critical technical incidents and support requests.
• Develop automation solutions using PowerShell and other scripting technologies.
• Manage device deployment, lifecycle management, software distribution, and endpoint configuration.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and support teams to improve reliability, performance, and user experience.
• Implement security best practices including patch management, vulnerability remediation, endpoint hardening, and compliance controls.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Systems Administration, Endpoint Engineering, Desktop Engineering, or a related role.
• Strong experience supporting enterprise Windows environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
• Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Endpoint Manager, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting and process automation experience.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD concepts.
• Experience supporting virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments.
